What is a proverb ?
Proverbs are defined as simple expressions or pieces of advice that are used represent an obvious truth. The word proverb comes from the Latin word proverbium in which pro means “forth” and verbum means “word”, so proverb means the words put forth. These are also known as sayings. We come across proverbs in our daily life. And there are proverbs for almost every situation. Some common proverbs are Well begun is half done, Charity begins at home etc. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the entire explanation, thousands of words are simplified in one expression which is quick to grasp the true meaning.
