7. The tropical rainforest has a large population of animals. Explain why it is so.

Answer:

Tropical rainforests has large population of animals, because, the climate is generally hot and humid. Also, tropical rainforests receives lot of rain. All these factors are suitable for adaptation of large number and variety of plants and animals.

8. Explain, with examples, why we find animals of certain kind living in particular climatic conditions.

Answer: As animals adapt conditions to live in particular climate. For example, penguins in polar region – they have thick white and black skin. White colors help them to merges easily with white background. Thick skin protect them from cold. They also have fat which again protect them from cold. They also huddled together to keep themselves warm.

9. How do elephant living in the tropical rainforest adapt itselfChoose the correct option which answers the following question:

Answer: The huge trunk of elephant acts as its nose, which has a strong sense of smell. Trunk helps in picking up food. Tusks of elephant are modified teeth, which helps to tear bark of trees, that elephant wants to eat. Also, the large ears helps an elephant to hear very soft sounds. Ears also helps elephants to stay cool in hot and humid climate of tropical rainforest. This is how elephant living in rainforest adapt itself.
