1. What is a habitat?

Answer: Habitat is surrounding where plants and animals live. Habitat in general is dwelling place of living organisms providing air, food, shelter and other needs. The habitat of organisms living on land are terrestrial habitat. The habitat of organisms living in water are called aquatic habitat.

2. How are cactus adapted to survive in a desert?

Answer: Roots of cactus plants are long and goes deep inside the soil for water absorption. Also, leaves of cactus are present in the form of spines and stem of cactus is covered with waxy layer, that reduces loss of water due to transpiration.
